Mike invited me to capture his secret San Francisco Engagement (or actual proposal) to his longtime girlfriend Laura! They met working together about two years ago and have been dating long distance ever since. Mike lives in Austin and flies to see Laura in San Jose every other week <3 . Mike knew he was going to propose to Laura, and he decided to document it forever. (This is when I enter the story) I actually met Mike over seven years ago working together at Apple Retail in Tucson Arizona! We have been facebook friends ever since and he knew I had become a photographer. So he contacted me and see if I would be up for the challenge of a destination engagement shoot. I couldn’t help but say yes!
When Mike and I started mapping out San Francisco Engagement adventure, I created a Pinterest board of example photos/locations for Mike to select his favorite. He then selected his favorite spots that represented them and I mapped out our adventure of the day.
We started out with me capturing sneaky photos of Laura and Mike having brunch at Cafe Chez Man. Then I took a cab to the Battery Spencer at Marin Headlands to overlook the Golden Gate Bridge, that was where Mike was going to propose 😉
After the romantic San Francisco Engagement, we attempted to adventure to the beach, but due to the beautiful sunny weather the beach was packed! So we went to our next destination to the Superhero Wall on 19th & mission. Mike and Laura have a fun quirky nerdy love so he was super excited for that! Sure enough, the photos show it all. We then drove over to Pier 7 to get some classic San Francisco shots. To finish it off we went and had some drinks at Market Bar to celebrate.
It was such a pleasure to capture such a special day for Laura and Mike! I hope to do more destination photo shoots in the future.
