It was a pleasure driving out for this Elmhurst newborn session! I actually was able to capture this wonderful family in 2018 for their holiday mini session. In 2019 it was time for holiday photos again, but this year they were expecting a new addition! We discussed and we determined an at-home newborn session would be the best fit for them. I love doing Elmhurst newborn sessions at home. Especially when they have an older sibling. Her older brother was super sweet and starting to get used to having a new sibling at home. We enjoyed taking some photos in their sunroom (that was heated so warm, perfect for baby!) And then we took some in her nursery. Check out the photos of the bassinet, it was her Great Grandfather’s! It was so special to capture some photos of her in it. Newborn sessions can take some time. They are generally about 2-3 hours. It sounds long, but it flys by. It is really due to getting a scope of the house, setting up my big baby pillow, blanket, getting the best light. Deciding on outfits, and where we are going to take some photos. I normally start by taking some photos of the family all together, then move to take photos of the siblings with the new baby. That part can be difficult. However, I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to make it happen.
I hope to be able to meet more wonderful families like this one! Below are some highlight photos, but here is a link to the entire gallery to see what you get with a session.
